Review - Victoria Secret Lasting FX Eyeshadow Primer

Usually I do not like VS makeup, but a few months ago I picked up a VS concealer/corrector palette which I absolutely love. I decided that I would try some of the other products in their Pro makeup line.

Two weeks ago I spotted this eyeshadow primer, priced at $8, so I decided to try it.

PROS: I have been using this primer alot and it's great. The texture is light and silky and it disappears into the skin when applied. It is odorless and colorless. I experienced no creasing at all and the e/s colors appear more vibrant when applied over this primer. It definitely prolongs the life of my eyeshadow.

CONS: When this primer sits for a while, the product starts to separate a bit - When this happens you can get an oily film (for lack of a better word). To avoid this just shake well before before use or squeeze out all of the oil that has settled to the bottom. This is not a deal breaker for me, but some may find it annoying.

I would definitely recommend this primer as it is a great alternative to UDPP or TFSI. For me, this is a must have.

Have you guys tried any on the VS Pro products? I think they may be stepping up their makeup game.

MAC Tempting Quad

Hi Beauties!

Thank you to all of my new followers. I appreciate the support!

Earlier this week I took a break from my schoolwork to shop for makeup. I found the MAC Tempting quad at my CCO for about $24, which is a pretty good deal. I also got a few other products that I've been wanting to get my hands on. One of those items was MAC Sweet as Cocoa blush which I LOVE!

I was so excited to to try out my new goodies! :-) Here is my FOTD. Click pics to enlarge.

The green is much more vibrant and pretty in person. And I'm STILL trying different lighting for these pics.

Quick EOTD - Green pigment

Hey Makeup Lovers,

This is a simple EOTD from a few days ago. I wore this to run around and do some errands. The only reason I put on any makeup was to test out a new e/s primer that I picked up a few days earlier. I don't have a good pic of the rest of my face...SORRY! Trust me - it wasn't that special.

Here is what I have on my eyes:
VS Pro Lasting FX Eyeshadow primer (Review coming soon)
L'Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Crayon in 812 Attentive (as a base)
MAC Green-Brown pigment on lid
soft brown from Milani 'Sedona Sunset' quad
concealer as a highlight
Revlon ColorStay Liquid liner
Cover Girl LashBlast mascara

Dramatic Eyes - Mystic Cool Palette

Here we go again, Makeup Lovers!

So guys, my car is still snowed in because Mr. Mocha has yet to shovel it out of the parking space therefore I am still stuck in the house *AAAAND BREATHE*. Sorry, I had to vent a little.

Since I have plenty of time on my hands and since I am trying my best not to buy any new makeup right now, (and since my car is under 12904738957 pounds of snow) I've been shopping my stash. The goal is to start using the products that have been forgotten/neglected. One such product is the MAC Mystic Cool eyeshadow palette from the Holiday 2009 collection. The other "oldie-but-goodie" is my Rimmel blush in Plum.

Another makeup goal is to practice certain techniques like, "cutting the crease". Here is my attempt (there was also a hair experiment going on today so beware):

FACE:
L'Oreal True Stay Concealer
Milani Pressed Powder in Honey Amber lightly buffed onto skin
MAC Refined Deeper Bronze
ELF Sun Kissed Bronzing Powder for highlight
Rimmel Blush in 032 Plum

EYES:
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
MAC Cool Incantation on lid and slightly above
MAC Deep Secret to cut crease
MAC Blue Enchantment to blend
concealer for highlight

LIPS:
MAC Chestnut lipliner
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherry Blossom 487

Sorry about the duplicate pics...for some reason I can't delete the second one. What do you guys think of my crease work? It's definitely not perfect, but it's an improvement.

I just looked out the window and it is snowing...AGAIN. **SIGH** Time to find some movies to watch.

Wishing for sun,

Rashida

Face of the Day - Neutral Shimmer

Hi Beauties!

While I was bumming around the house the other day I decided to play in some makeup. Here is a quick, neutral face of the day using only 2 eyeshadows. Also, I picked up a Milani pressed powder - so far so good though I think it may be a tad too dark. I'll review this powder after I use it a few more times.

On to the pics:

Face:
Primer -??
Victoria Secret Concealer Palette for color correction and concealer of undereye circles
Milani Pressed Powder in 02 Honey Amber lightly buffed onto skin
Rimmel blush in 032 Plum

Eyes:
MAC Gleam on lid and slightly above
MAC Mulch in crease
Concealer as highlight
Revlon Liquid eyeliner
CoverGirl LashBlast mascara

Lips:
MAC Cremeblend blush in Joie-de-Vivre - LOVES IT!
generic gloss

You guys don't even want to know what I had going on under that hat!

The last picture was taken a few days ago of the front of my apartment complex...and more snow is on the way. UGH! I need some sun!
