Midnight Blues

Hi MakeupLovers!

A FOTD from 2 weeks ago when I went out for drinks with a friend. I was feeling like doing something bright and wanted to play around with my new MAC purchases (Fluidline in Midnight Blues and MAC Pro Longwear lip creme in To the Future). Sidebar - I haven't purchased makeup in SOOO long; this would be the first time in about 5-6 months I think. I think I have more than enough :-)

You guys, my forehead keeps attracting pimples *SIGH*

I played around with photoshop and cleared up my forehead, lol!

Birds & Berries

Here is a quick FOTD from a few weeks ago. I used MAC All that Glitters on the lid and MAC Birds & Berries on the outer corner, crease, and under eye area with a random brown to blend.

Love this color...I can't believe I forgot about it.

The beenie is from Claire's, hair is twisted in preparation for a twist-out, earring are from the beauty supply.

New Years Eve Look

Here is my New Years Eve look. I actually have on lashes, but opted for a more "natural" ones because I was attending church before my NYE festivities.

The front of my hair is pinned up in the last few pictures.

MAC CCO Find - Blue Flame

I was too excited to find MAC Blue Flame eyeshadow at my local CCO. I had been hard pressed for this since it came out with the Style Black Collection in Fall 2009.

Its a mineralized blue color that is super versatile (in my opinion). I had no problems with blending our fallout. This gets two thumbs up from me. You ladies are going to have to pay me to STOP wearing this shadow :-)

click pics to enlarge...I am wearing it over a gray base.

Dramatic Eyes - Mystic Cool Palette

Here we go again, Makeup Lovers!

So guys, my car is still snowed in because Mr. Mocha has yet to shovel it out of the parking space therefore I am still stuck in the house *AAAAND BREATHE*. Sorry, I had to vent a little.

Since I have plenty of time on my hands and since I am trying my best not to buy any new makeup right now, (and since my car is under 12904738957 pounds of snow) I've been shopping my stash. The goal is to start using the products that have been forgotten/neglected. One such product is the MAC Mystic Cool eyeshadow palette from the Holiday 2009 collection. The other "oldie-but-goodie" is my Rimmel blush in Plum.

Another makeup goal is to practice certain techniques like, "cutting the crease". Here is my attempt (there was also a hair experiment going on today so beware):

FACE:
L'Oreal True Stay Concealer
Milani Pressed Powder in Honey Amber lightly buffed onto skin
MAC Refined Deeper Bronze
ELF Sun Kissed Bronzing Powder for highlight
Rimmel Blush in 032 Plum

EYES:
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
MAC Cool Incantation on lid and slightly above
MAC Deep Secret to cut crease
MAC Blue Enchantment to blend
concealer for highlight

LIPS:
MAC Chestnut lipliner
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cherry Blossom 487

Sorry about the duplicate pics...for some reason I can't delete the second one. What do you guys think of my crease work? It's definitely not perfect, but it's an improvement.

I just looked out the window and it is snowing...AGAIN. **SIGH** Time to find some movies to watch.

Wishing for sun,

Rashida

Face of the Day

Here is a look using L'Oreal HIP Duo in Showy. I'd had this eyeshadow for a while and never used it. I was going out after work and decided to revive this e/s and as soon as I swatched the teal color and saw how pretty it was I used it right away. I quickly threw this eye look together just to see the colors and I loved it! I used both the teal and dark blue colors in the duo as well as a shimmery highlight color above the brow bone and slightly over the teal on my inner corner. A white liner was used on my waterline. I did this in about 5 minutes before I headed out...I even forgot mascara *GASP*!!

Till next time...
Peace,
MochaMakeupLover
