On Friday I had a lunch date planned with some friends so I decided to do a lil extra with the eyes. I hope you like it!
On another note, I think my skin is starting to come back to its senses. I've gone back to using my favorite face wash and drinking lots of water. *fingers crossed*

Hair of the Week - Long post
Hi MakeupLovers! Today's post is all about hair. The other day I posted about my summer favorites and mentioned my Shea butter/Shealoe mix (click here to read the post and to see what I used in the mixture).
A few weeks ago I used the mixture to achieve a twist out style. Basically I co-washed and conditioned my hair, used a leave in conditioner and applied my Shea butter mixture to wet hair.
I parted my hair from ear to ear then flat twisted my hair in 2 layers and secured the ends with perm rods. I had a total of about 10 twists. After I allowed my hair to fully dry I released the twists in the morning and here are the results.
The pics were taken at the end of the day, hence the "friendly frizz". Click to enlarge.
rough edges! lol!
2nd and 3rd day hair
4th day hair; pics taken in the morning on the way to work
I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of hold I got my just using this mixture and my hair was super moisturized.
At night I preserved the style by pineappling my hair (gathering and securing my hair on top of my head in a loose, high ponytail using a scrunchy), taking it down in the morning and refreshing with Carols Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in Conditioner, maybe a little oil, and my fluffing with my fingers. (The 4th day hair has been given new life with a little more shea butter mix and oil).
If you guys have any questions about co-washing, twisting, etc. let me know. I'll be happy to clarify.
**I believe I got that headband at Target.

Summer Faves
Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine – This is an awesome lip balm that give a slight lip gloss sheen. It’s super moisturizing and has a lovely, light scent. I purchased this in a pack of 2 other lip butters and this is by far my favorite…I think because of the color and smell since they are all the same formula.
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in Conditioner – LOVE. Truth be told I’ve been using this for a few years so technically it’s not a summer fave, but more of a general love! The scent…the ingredients…seriously, all LOVE! I’ve tried other products but I always come back to this one. It can be used on freshly washed, soaking wet hair, as a refresher on dry hair, to dampen the hair to prep for a style, etc. I find that I see less shedding when I use this; it also gives the hair moisture and shine, and aids in detangling. I would recommend this to everyone.
Shealoe Mix - I didn't take a picture of this because I mixed this up in an old shea butter container, but this concoction consists of pure shea butter, aloe vera gel, and some oil (I think I was a little heavy handed with the oil). Though I got great results from using it on my skin, I was skeptical about using it in my hair because I didn’t think I would get adequate hold. I was WRONG! I used this on my last two twist outs and got great results. The hold was amazing! I’ll post do a separate hair post soon.
Eve Pearl Anti Shine Mattifying Gel – I picked these up during an Eve Pearl sale. I got one in Light/Med and one in Tan/Dark, which means nothing since they are both the same color…clear. Sure they come out of the tube a certain color, but they blend down to the same colorless hue. Really, Eve Pearl? Anywho, I’ve used this throughout the summer months and it definitely comes in handy for eliminating shine. What I do is dab it on top of my makeup and it quickly absorbs any oil or shininess. Works like a charm.
What are your summer favorites? Do we have any of the same favorites? Do tell!
Smokey Lower Lash Line
You know what I'm feeling lately...smoking out the bottom lash line with shadow. Yup! Makes me feel sexy. Especially with a bold lip.
Also, peep my lash game in the blue liner pics ---> Dior Lash Primer + Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara. Say what??!
After fixing my wet bun, adding MAC's Russian Red lipstick, going out for a drink, then crying off all of my makeup (seriously, don't ask)
On another night, heading out for drinks with the girls.

Dressmaker, Dressmaker
A good friend hosted a housewarming over the weekend and this is the look I went for. I wanted to keep things peachy and neutral so opted for no eyeshadow, heavy liner, and light lips. AS you can see my skin is not being nice to me at the moment UGH!
Does anyone else have MAC's lipstick in Dressmaker, Dressmaker? I think its a nice shade when you don't want anything over the top.
FACE:
MAC Satinfish foundation + Lancome concealer
WNW bronzer used as a blush and bronzer
EYES:
Lancome Artliner on top lash line
Urban Decay pencil in Zero on waterline
Lancome Hypnose Drama (I think)
LIPS:
MAC l/s in Dressmaker, Dressmaker

Here is a look I wore to a baby shower. I was going for DRAMA with the eyes...please excuse the open closet door and hair rollers.
On another note, I ordered this Rock & Republic lipgloss from a recent HauteLook sale and I am very pleased so far. I'll have to use it some more though. Does anyone have any R&R cosmetics?
