Wet N Wild palette

I was drugstore shopping a few weeks ago and came across this Wet N Wild palette.

Wet n Wild Limited Edition Color Icon Soiree Eyeshadow Quads (retail: $4.99 each) – I picked up Sumptuous.

The gold shade is a cream, glitter shadow and the other shades all offer some sort of shimmer/glitter, but nothing overwhelming. First of all, you NEED a PRIMER AND BASE when dealing with these shadows. I used ELF Mineral Eyeshadow primer. I utilized all of the colors in this palette in the look. It turned out ok – the colors are soft, and as you can see, there is some fallout on my face. The colors are pigmented upon application but when you start to blend the color fades. I would recommend a colored base when using this palette.

For me, this palette is not a complete miss, because it is workable. But the problem is – you gotta really WORK. lol. Would you ladies purchase this palette?

A few things + NARS Angelika

Ever since I saw this post I have been hard pressed to get my hands on this blush.

I stopped at Sephora on my lunch break to pick up the NARS blush in Angelika (GORG!). I have been reading reviews on NARS Sheer Glow Foundation and have been wanting to give it a try - I was able to get a sample of this foundation in Cadiz which, unfortunately is too light for me. The next shade up is too dark. Guess its not meant to be:-(

Since I am a Beauty Insider, I also got a birthday gift from Sephora which included a Sephora Collection mini eyeshadow in Aspen Summit, a mini eyeliner in Silver Green, and a mini mascara lash plumper.

NARS Sheer Glow applied to the right side of my face (YOUR left side aka the side with the forehead pimple!). Even though I think this foundation is too light for my skin tone, it does leave a very natural looking, glowy, medium coverage. This foundation is very buildable.

NARS Angelika applied lightly to my right cheek. LOVE!

Hi Makeup Lovers!

Since I'm shopping my stash, I've decided to use my 120 palette for a smokey eye look. The goal is to use products that I've neglected and this palette is definitely one of them.

This look is great for a night out on the town. What do you ladies think? Do any of you have this palette?

EOTD

Hi Beauties!

Here is another quick EOTD - I was just messing around with my 120 palette. If any of you don't know about this palette or would like to see it, let me know.

I think it is great for beginners or those on a budget. Some of the colors are a bit "iffy", but overall I really love this palette...very good pigmentation and variety for a low price.

EOTD - Sushi Flower

I have had MAC Sushi Flower for the longest time and could not figure out how to make it work for me. I even attempted to do a FOTD using this color and it was a DISASTER! I looked sick!

Here is a much more scaled back use of Sushi Flower...how do you guys wear Sushi Flower?

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer
MAC Yogurt in inner 1/3 of lid
MAC Sushi Flower on mid 1/3 of lid
MAC Beauty Marked on outer v and in crease
120 palette for highlight color
Wet n Wild gel eyeliner
NYC black liner on waterline
I forgot what mascara I used

Preliminary Gushing for L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Skin Primer

I have been using the L’Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Skin Primer for the past few days. I don’t usually review a products so quickly after purchasing, but I had to let you guys know : THIS STUFF IS WONDERFUL! ERR’BODY NEEDS TO HAVE IT!

I have been applying it to my face after moisturizing and before foundation. I use less than a dime size amount to cover my entire face - the primer comes out orange with gold flecks but blends to an invisible, somewhat sparkly looking finish.

At first I didn’t know if I would be able to get past the sparkle, but baby, forget the sparkle! After about an hour I did not notice any obvious sparkle – it was more like a subtle glowiness. Yes, I just made up that word. This makes my pores look invisible and makes my foundation look flawless. I have not experienced oxidation or shininess and it is nearly 80 degrees here. I even walked around in the heat and did not have to blot at all when I came back inside.

I am impressed! I'll keep using this and give you a guys a more long term review in the near future.

Milani Wild Violets Quad

Happy Easter Makeup Lovers!

Because it is Easter Sunday, I did a FOTD using purples. When I think of Easter colors I think of pastels, pinks, purples, yellows, etc. I also stuck with a drugstore brand of makeup.

I purchased this Milani quad When CVS was having it's major 75% off sale (original price is $4.99) and have never used it. I decided to give it a go! This quad features 4 varying shades of purple - all of the colors have pretty average pigmentation with the lightest color being the softest/chalkiest. I've definitely seen much better pigmentation among drugstore makeup. I used all four colors in this look.

The colors are definitely more vivid in person, but nothing to write home about. I think that these shadows could be worn to work - what do you think? Am I pushing it?

Minimal Look using Drugstore Makeup

Hi Beauties!

I've been forbidding myself from buying any makeup because I feel that I have quite enough and I am also trying to save money. With that said, I have put myself on a makeup budget which has forced me to choose wisely! It has also gotten me to fall back in love with drugstore makeup...honestly, I don't think I could ever fall out of love with drugstore makeup :-)

There are some great drugstore makeup gems out there, trust me. Lower end makeup is good for anyone on a budget or anyone who is just starting to get into makeup.

I did VERY minimal look today using all drugstore makeup. I was going for the barely-there-nude-but-bronze look (if that makes any sense). lol!
